WE DO
PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.
As The Ground Up Project builds this vision, literally from the ground up, fundraising is our biggest goal. From networking with other successful nonprofits in our area, to connecting with local political leaders who can help take this mission as far as possible - our team is dedicated to building a community designed specifically for individuals with special needs.
Land Research
One of the first steps, will be to procure land. Our organization is in talks with Okaloosa County in regards to a plot of land in the north end of the county that may be a good fit for our community. That being said, we are always looking, learning and open to any opportunity that presents itself.
Fundraising
Donations and working closely with our local communities will always be the biggest goal. Aside from the initial cost to build, there will be ongoing operating costs. Keep an eye out for our quarterly events, along with smaller fundraisers throughout the year. Every little bit helps!
Education
As our society continues to learn more about special needs, what causes certain diagnoses, how to best support these individuals and what tools are required for their independence - our organization aims to spread awareness. Every bit of information will help connect parts of our community with the proper support.

Political Path
Our Development Committee works intensively to plan this community. From layouts and drawings, to making connections with the proper points of contact in our area - we are constantly moving forward!
Self-Sustainability is the goal! Our founding board has already mapped out the plans to include a gardening section within the community which will not only provide fresh food for the residents, but will also provide the opportunity for these individuals to have safe work opportunities right at home!
Believe it or not, local politics will play a major role in this journey! County Commissioners are working with our team in scouring the area for a plot of land that will make a good fit for this community, and state level legislative connections will be an anchor point for funding.
