A Day Program for Adults with Disabilities

The Resting Tree is a welcoming place where adults with special needs can relax, connect, and enjoy meaningful activities in a safe, supportive environment. With both full-day and half-day programs, we aim to give caregivers peace of mind while their loved ones are cared for with kindness and respect. The Resting Tree is the beginning of something bigger. Income from our programs will go directly toward building a future residential community where adults with autism can truly belong and thrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What activities do you offer?

Our program offers dedicated spaces where participants can build life skills, connect socially, and explore their personal interests. We also host special sessions led by local businesses and volunteers.

Do you offer therapy?

We do not provide ABA therapy or any other related therapies (speech, occupational, physical, etc). We are not a school, vocational program, or adult day care center. One thing that makes us different is our person-centered approach—we never require participants to do anything they don’t want to do.

Who is eligible to attend?

We welcome adults ages 16–55 with autism and other cognitive disabilities. We support ambulatory participants with staff ratios up to 1:6

We employ an LPN who can provide assistance with medications and other health related issues. Contact us to discuss your needs.

What safety features does the center have?

Safety is a top priority at The Resting Tree. All staff complete Level 2 background checks, security cameras monitor communal areas, access-controlled locks keep the building secure, and all community visitors must be accompanied by a vetted staff or board member at all times.

What training does the staff have?

Our staff complete the same training required by APD for Direct Support Professionals, including CPR and First Aid. They also receive RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) training to better support participants’ needs.

Do you accept insurance?

We are a private pay program and we do not take Medicaid Waiver or insurance of any kind. We do not take FES or any other scholarship.

We are currently working on providing scholarships to help with program costs. If you’re interested or want to check eligibility, please contact our Program Director.
